Language we create

I’ve been noticing me. What I say and interject in conversations. I’m noticing my concerns through all of my questions, musing, and comments. I’m noticing what I don’t say, too. German philosopher Heidegger wrote, “Language is the house of Being. In its home (hu) man dwells. Those who think and those who create with words are the guardians of this home.” I know I’m full of questions and seek from others their answers, and possibly more questions. It enlivens me to think. And feel. And hope for. And seek in others.

The poetic words written by Craig O’Flaherty (April 2020) challenge me to think more about my language and my house of Being. The experience we are living through individually and collectively across the world challenge our notions of who we are.

What language is in your house of Being?
